Composting to reduce waste, create jobs and fight climate change

May 25, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Envision Frederick County and the Center for Coastal and Watershed Studies at Hood College are very pleased to invite you to join us for a free presentation by Brenda Platt as part of our ongoing speaker series.

Brenda Platt is the Co-Director of the Institute for Local Self-Reliance and, among other things, heads up its Composting Makes $en$e and Composting for Community projects.

Her highly engaging and informative presentation will focus on composting, and will clearly illustrate why expanding this too often under-appreciated activity, at home and in our communities, is a practical, possible and important choice we can make — a genuine win-win approach with real benefits for our soil, the Chesapeake Bay, our economy and the fight against climate change.
