Up Top Acres and DC Central Kitchen Present: Watermelon-palooza!

August 24, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Nothing says summer better than fresh watermelon on a hot day! We’re partnering with DC Central Kitchen and our pals from the neighborhood for an evening celebrating all things watermelon. We’ve rounded up some of the best restaurants in the Capitol Riverfront who will be serving up watermelon themed bites and drinks featuring watermelons grown on the rooftop Farm at 55 M Street!

Tickets will include drinks and bites from The Salt Line, Rasa, Osteria Morini D.C., Taylor Gourmet, Ice Cream Jubilee, Mountain Valley Spring Water, Shake Shack, cocktails from Buffalo & Bergen and many more to come!

All proceeds from the event will go to DC Central Kitchen and their efforts of fighting hunger and poverty in Washington, DC!

About DC Central Kitchen

As the nation’s first and leading community kitchen, DC Central Kitchen develops and operates social ventures targeting the cycle of hunger and poverty. The organization’s life-changing ventures provide culinary training to jobless adults, turn wasted food into balanced meals for shelters and nonprofits, expand access to healthy food, and provide healthy, scratch-cooked meals in low-income schools. These efforts have been recognized with the leading national award for healthy school food innovation, The Golden Carrot; the Washington Business Journal’s Green Business Award for Innovation; and the DC Chamber of Commerce’s Community Impact Award.
