Learning to Fly: Beginner Arm Balances with Kristin Buchholz
January 14, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Are you interested in arm balances but don’t know where to start? Have you tried an arm balance but just can’t seem to find the balance? Or maybe you’d just like to build some arm and core strength.
Join us for a foundation class that works through strengthening poses that integrate the arm and core muscles to build strength needed for arm balances and every day life.
We’ll look at how proper alignment in the foundation poses translates into arm balances such as crow, forearm stand, and eight angle pose, with the focus on finding the balance of strength and flexibility in these poses. Time will be provided for questions and discussions of how to work these poses into a personal practice.
Come and try a new pose, build strength, and have some fun in the studio!
About Kristin:
Kristin Buchholz is an engineer, avid home cook, and yoga teacher. She first started practicing yoga in her dorm room as a way to stay fit and relax. Since then she has continued to practice yoga at various gyms and studios as she moved around the country for her work as an engineer. After settling in Silver Spring, MD, Kristin decided to pursue a 200-hour yoga teacher training at Sky House to be able to share her passion for yoga. Kristin enjoys a practice that links the breath and movement while stretching and releasing tensions of our daily lives. She looks forward to sharing her practice with her students.
