Woods and Wildflowers: Meet Amazing Plants!
June 1, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Spring is a wonderful time of year to get outside, explore new places, and admire beautiful wildflowers! Join master naturalist and plant expert Carrie Blair for a series of classes (Thursdays, June 1st, June 8, and June 15) focused on the flora of Virginia. Learn where to find and how to identify the incredible array of wildflowers in our local woodlands, wetlands, and meadows. Each session the class will visit a new area in search of summer blooms, amazing trees, and the animals and insects that rely on them. During the classes you will:
– Visit beautiful places in our northern Virginia landscape.
– Learn about dozens of wildflowers, shrubs, and trees.
– Discover patterns that increase your understanding of plant families.
– Become more comfortable using a variety of field guides to identify plants.
Whether you want to explore vibrant meadows and forests, sharpen your plant ID skills, or just get out and enjoy amazing spring wildflowers, this class will be fun and informative!
You are encouraged to sign up for the whole series, but can drop in to one classes as well–just get in touch with us so we can let you know where we are meeting.
