Addiction & Loss: Sharing Stories/Mindfulness Act of Self Care
May 21, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
“Because telling your story—while being witnessed with loving attention by others who
care—may be the most powerful medicine on earth.” Lissa Rankin, MD
Are you losing someone to addiction? Has someone you loved died due to addiction? Being the
survivor of this kind of complicated loss can create tremendous stress on your body, heart, mind
and soul. Often, we suffer alone, holding our grief and story close. Grief is difficult enough, but
adding the stigma and the complicated nature of addiction can make it even more difficult.
Join us in the peaceful setting of Fox Haven Farm to learn how sharing your story and engaging
in some simple mindfulness practices can provide you some peace and healing along your grief
journey. Come share your story with others who have similar experiences. Sharing our stories
allows us to start the healing process and to connect with others so that we know we are not
alone. Also, learning some mindful practices can allow us to experience our grief with
compassion and loving kindness.
