DC People’s Budget Forum
April 13, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
On April 4th, Mayor Bowser will release her proposal for DC’s $13 billion budget – her decisions about how much will be spent on housing, health care, jobs, support for immigrants, and more – and the DC Council will begin working on it.
Budgets are moral documents, and now more than ever, it’s critical that the DC budget reflects the needs and priorities of the families that live and work here.
That’s why DC’s leading community and advocacy organizations are partnering to put on this important event. Residents will have the opportunity to speak directly with their elected officials on how they address critical issues of inequality and quality of life that are facing our city, and how lives will be impacted by DC’s budget. Ward 8 Councilmember Trayon White will attend, and we expect more elected officials to join as well.
This event is co-sponsored by: 32BJ SEIU, Bread for the City, DC for Democracy, DC Jobs with Justice, DC Working Families, Fair Budget Coalition, Family Values at Work, Labor Project for Working Families, National LGBTQ Taskforce, Jews United for Justice, and Washington Peace Center.
