DOEE FrogWatch Volunteer Training

March 16, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Answer the call to offer a helping hand and lend an ear for frogs and toads!

You can learn more about your amphibian neighbors and contribute to amphibian conservation in your community by joining the FrogWatch USA chapter hosted by the District of Columbia Department of Energy & Environment (DOEE)! DOEE FrogWatch Chapter Volunteers are citizen scientists who collect data on calling frogs and toads at aquatic habitats in and around the city. Data collection takes place at night from March through August.

In order to participate, new volunteers will need to attend one of two in-person training opportunities hosted by a DOEE Fish & Wildlife Biologist at the Aquatic Resources Education Center (AREC) in Anacostia Park (view map):
Saturday, March 2nd from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Saturday, March 16th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Note: In the event of inclement weather causing a training cancellation, a make up session will be held on Saturday, March 30th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Aquatic Resources Education Center in Anacostia Park.
