Edible Landscaping Fall Fruit Festival

Come celebrate growing food with us on Saturday September 16th. 9 am to 4 pm.
Sign up for door prizes when you arrive. Tastings of whatever is ripe in the orchard.
9:15 am Michael McConkey (our owner) will be leading the 1st tour, about 45 minutes.
10:00 am Door prize drawing.
10:15 am George will lead a medicinal plant tour.
11:00 am Door prize drawing.
11:15 am Dan the orchard man and Michael will tour the orchard speaking on variety care and much more.
Tours and door prizes will repeat themselves in the afternoon. Tours will include; Tea Camellia, Carlos Grape, Delicious Grape, Ison’s Grape, Korean Giant Asian Pear, Black Walnut, Ichi Ki Kei Jiro Persimmon, Maekawa Persimmon, Goumi and Amber Autumn Olive.
Kiwi, Jujube, Persimmon (only ripe ones), Pear, Pawpaw, Muscadine and other grapes and more should be ripe for sampling.

Bio Michael McConkey;
Michael the owner of Edible Landscaping has been growing fruit since the 70’s. His main interests are fruits that are easy to grow. He is very knowledgeable on organics. He has introduced many new varieties of fruits to the American public. He will share stories of his career and the many fruits he loves.
Bio George Staten;
George and plants have been together for many years. He served as a horticulturalist at the White House Greenhouses at the time of the Regan Administration. George is committed deeply to the Native Americans and their love, respect and knowledge of their surroundings, especially when it comes to medicinal plants. His wife and son also help with their business Sweet Melissa’s Herbals.
Bio Dan Lefever;
Dan has a vast knowledge of keeping plants healthy. He is an encyclopedia of anything organic. His work ethic s extraordinary and his manner is kind and genuine. At the moment, he is managing our orchard and 2 others, plus he keeps on 3 or 4 gardens.
