Farming Yesterday and Today Tour

On this tour you’ll visit two farms in Clarke County – Clermont Farms and Smith Meadows Farm. Clermont Farms is essentially unchanged since 1750 and now serves as an educational center for the study of agriculture and history. We’ll learn about both former and current agricultural practices on the small farm from Robert Stieg, Clermont Foundation Executive Director. After a catered lunch in Berryville, we’ll visit Smith Meadows Farm for a guided tour of a successful new farm model. Smith Meadows is a 200-year-old sustainable family farm. Forrest Pritchard is owner of Smith Meadows Farm and New York Times best-selling author. After Smith Meadows, we’ll travel back to Berryville for a farewell tea at historic Rosemont Manor where we’ll have tea and a snack before saying our farewells.
