Fire by Friction

Learn essential fire skills and how to create fire with the bow drill and hand drill! This class – suitable for complete beginners – will give students a profoundly deeper understanding of numerous aspects of fire craft, with a focus on friction fire.
If you’ve ever watched cast members of “survival” reality shows make fire primitively and thought to yourself, “I want to try that,” or if you want to experience the magic of making fire by rubbing sticks together, or if you simply want to be more proficient with fire for campouts and backyard barbecues: this class is for you!
This class is being conducted by Earth Village Education, a nonprofit organization based in northern Virginia. There is a sliding scale class fee from $60 – $120.
