Samantha Feld is the owner operator of a small mushroom growing and foraging business in Baltimore, Maryland called The Mushroomworks.

Her fascination with fungus began a few years back when an amazing reishi patch sprouted in her backyard. This fascination became a full blown obsession and she began immerse herself in the intense, complicated, and often misunderstood world of mycology. This led her back to the woods, which reawakened a dormant, but deep love of the forest.

Sam is an avid forager, gardener, and has been studying the medicinal aspects of mushrooms and plants. She has taken numerous workshops on mushroom identification, cultivation, and identification and uses of wild and medicinal plants. She has also taught beginner edible mushroom identification for Charm City Farms.

When not out in the woods or at the farmer’s market, she can be found teaching art in Baltimore City Schools, in the studio making some art, or at home chilling with her teenaged son.
