Here it comes…The LAST First Friday of 2017!

Since May, we’ve been staying open late on the first Friday of each month to turn the warehouse into a pop-up market with a mystery sale, live music, local art, a delicious food truck, and craft beer & wine. September 1st will be our final one for the year, so come on out and help us celebrate a successful season!

When: Friday, September 1st, 6pm-8pm
Where: Community Forklift – 4671 Tanglewood Drive, Edmonston MD 20781 (5 min. outside NE DC in the Port Towns neighborhood, near Hyattsville)
Who: YOU! And your friends, family, kids, neighbors, coworkers, and (friendly, leashed) dogs.
Cost: Free to attend – But you can support your local artists and businesses by purchasing their wares and tipping the band.

We’ll have…

A MYSTERY SALVAGE SALE!
There will be a special sale that starts at 6pm (We’ll announce the details online on Friday afternoon).

LIVE FOLK MUSIC!
Since 2013, The Iris Bell have crafted a distinctive style of folksy Americana with lush harmonies, a variety of instruments, and a generous helping of barrel-aged American whiskey.

A TASTY FOOD TRUCK!
Maki Shop ‘s hand rolls (and rice bowls) are inspired by the aesthetics and practicality of Japanese maki-zushi and temaki rolls. They are beautifully presented and incorporate simply prepared fresh ingredients, unique and deliberate combinations of flavors.

MAGICAL ENTERTAINMENT!
Folks of all ages will enjoy the talents of strolling magician Matt Neufeld as he dazzles and amazes with his close-up magic. You won’t believe your eyes!

LOCAL ARTISTS!
Delia Mychajluk considers her art “an expression of thoughts and feelings about what I consider the ‘essentials’ of things, i.e., life/death, growth, and the boundaries between the physical/spiritual worlds. Connections between people and animals and people and the world of nature are also explored.” She’ll be selling oil paintings, polymer clay earrings, mixed media art pieces, and notecards.

Denise Marie Painting is a cooperative art business between Denise Marie, who produces oil paintings, photography, prints and note cards and Richard Brown (Riccardo), who produces, wood sculpture, silver, bronze and copper jewelry.

Julie Suarez is an oil painter, surface pattern designer and Art Educator, originally from Upstate New York. She creates original oil paintings, one of a kind art pieces and surface pattern designs, along with fabric designs on products, home decor, as well as design oil paintings for private collectors.

Kasse Andrews-Weller, born and raised in rural Georgia in a small town, has an affinity for the local red clay. “My first experience was on a Sunday family outing, we went to Jugtown Pottery. There I was mesmerized by the potter’s wheel and the shapes that came from a lump of clay. My creativity was ignited. I exhibit nationally and internationally and rely on Community Forklift for supplies and ideas.”

Paula Claggett is an oil painter who, from her earliest memory, has had her attention fully claimed by her twin loves of art and reading. “Though the subjects and palettes and brush styles may vary, each painting tells a story. Stories that intrigue me most convey universal themes: Strength. Beauty. Freedom. Culture. My paintings of faces and figures mirror those themes. Some are graphic and grouped, others representational and solitary. All connect me with our diverse humanity, all of whom share life’s dreams and dramas. My landscapes present nature’s own dynamic story of enduring strength, beauty and unbridled freedom. Some landscapes capture close-in spaces while others offer broader vistas.”

TASTY BEVERAGES!
Town Center Market is back again this year and is bringing an exciting selection of craft beers and wine to the ‘Lift each month.
