Fox Walkers Forest Learning Community is a unique opportunity for children to spend time fully immersed in nature in an unhurried, joyful, exploratory way. The program revolves around a central location that we visit week after week, in all kinds of weather, observing natural processes unfold as the seasons change. There we spend our time according to the interests of the children, following their natural curiosity about their surroundings as well as sharing stories, survival/primitive/traditional skills, arts, crafts, and games to further enhance their experience and develop their comfort and confidence interacting with their surroundings. By direct exposure to the wonders of nature and through developing deep connection and relationship to a specific place, we cultivate a deep respect for our Earth, each other, and ourselves.
Note:
Each child should bring a lunch, water bottle, and a small first-aid kit and dress appropriately for the day’s weather.
Tracy’s bio
Tracy Blair is the mother of two children, Penelope and Oliver,, who are her inspiration and motivation for co-creating this forest learning community as a place to explore nature in the company of many curious kids. Since she became a mother, Tracy has been on a mission to discover ways to live more holistically and in balance with the Earth’s natural patterns and rhythms. Her passion for this discovery process has touched every area of her life and made her a teacher of kundalini yoga and a student of permaculture design, primitive and traditional skills, nutrition, art, non-violent communication, peaceful parenting, intentional communities, and many more life-enriching practices and concepts. She is delighted for the opportunity to spend time with children, sharing her wonder for the Earth as well as her knowledge and skills.
