Good Food & Music Straight Outta West Africa

On June 17th, West Tribes is setting a West African table filled with GOOD FOOD Straight Out Of West Africa.
West Tribes is the new food kid on the DC foodie block, with the sole mission to serve and delight your taste buds with the collective rich flavors of the 16 West African countries.
Hosted at Mess Hall’s chic and rustic warehouse facility, Straight Outta West Africa is promising to be an unforgettable West African night of Good Food and Music.
Over 20 different gourmet West African cuisines on a mission to delight your taste buds. Alcohol is not included in the ticket price, a cash bar will be available to serve cocktails inspired by the Tribes.
The All-You-Can-Eat cocktail styled menu includes:
Kelewele (Ghana), sweet plantain diced and spiced with West African spices and deep-fried
Stuffed Fried Yam (Ghana)–squared cut yams fried and stuffed with Delali’s Flavory Sauce
Suya (Nigeria–West African beef kebab)-thin sliced beef marinated in spicy peanut butter sauce and fire roasted
Juicy Jollof Rice (Liberia)–rice cooked in savory tomato sauce with spices and vegetables
Waakye (Ghana-West African rice and beans)–rice and beans cooked with West African spices and herbs
Yassa Chicken (Senegal)–chicken marianated in lemon juice and sauteed in peanut oil with onions, chili peppers & cabbage
Goat Pepper Soup (West Tribes) goat meat seasoned and cooked in savory vegetable soup with pepper
Collard Greens (Liberia)–fresh collard greens sauteed in extra virgin olive oil with spices
Cassava Leaves (Liberia)–fresh cassava/yucca leaves sauteed in red palm oil with West African spices
Kenkey (Ghana)–sourdough ground corn meal sauteed in Delali’s Flavory Pepper Sauce, topped with fresh West African salsa and fried turkey bits
West Tribes is more than Good Food; it’s about the celebration of life, and bringing people together at the table to share joy, love, laughter, and make great memories in good company. It’s about sharing the rich culinary heritage of West Africa, with the world beyond.
