The Silver Spring Garden Club invites you to a talk on:
Herbs to Enrich Our Food, Health, and Environment

Our speaker Pat Kenny will share her deep knowledge of culinary and medicinal herbs that can be grown in our region. She will provide a variety of herb samples to taste, touch, and smell.

Encouraged by the magazine Organic Gardening, Pat Kenny has been learning about and growing herbs and vegetables since 1973 when she, as a medical illustrator at NIH, realized that gardening is where better heath and welfare begins. Now retired and as a 38-year member of the Herb Society of America, she is learning to be a Master Gardener (since 1997).

Note that the previously announced speaker had a date conflict and will be rescheduled for 2018.

Bring a plant to participate in a Plant Swap. Start looking around now for a nice* plant to bring. Be sure that it is potted up well in advance and in excellent health. We will draw numbers and each person that brings a plant will pick out a “new” plant to take home.
*It can be an indoor plant. It can be store-bought. It can be a division from your garden. We just ask that it be of a decent size and quality — aim for something that if you saw it at a local garden center you would buy it yourself. Please label it and include as much growing information and other details as you can.
