Indian Cooking Workshop with Locally Grown Ingredients!

June 17, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Come join us at Stationhouse Apartments on Saturday, June 17th, as we travel to India, the land of spices, for a fun and interactive cooking workshop where we will prepare and eat several vegetarian Indian dishes. We will also learn about how we can grow some of these vegetables right here in DC and their rich cultural history. Menu is always subject to last minute changes, but here is what we are planning on so far:

Appetizers: Crispy Vegetable Fritters with homemade chutney

Chana Dal (Bengal Gram) with Walking Onions and Garlic Scapes

Main: Saag Paneer with a twist (spinach, lambs quarters, amaranth and cottage cheese)

Cumin Rice

Raita- Yogurt with Vegetables

Dessert: Indian Rice Pudding

Holy Basil/ Stevia Tea or Strawberry/Mango Lassi

Hope to see you there, and email us with any questions at info@cultivatethecity.com. Thank you!
