Julie’s 17th Annual Backyard Plant Sale

May 5, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - May 6, 2017 @ 1:00 pm

Julie Ericksen holds a plant sale every year from plants donated by interested people from their own gardens. Proceeds from the sale benefit The Nature Conservancy in Virginia.

Julie will begin collecting plants the weekend before the sale and up to the sale. Sale dates are:

· Friday, April 29 from 4:00 p.m. – dark
· Saturday, April 30 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The preview for donors will be from 3:00-4:00 p.m. on Friday. At this time, donors may purchase up to the number of plants donated by that person. This is not a swap but a sale to raise money.

An educational talk will be given Saturday at 1:00 following the end of sales. At 1:20, all leftover plants are given to any plant donor in any quantity.

If you have plants to donate, you can leave them on Julie’s front porch any time during the week before the sale (please leave your name). If you can label them with their plant names or leave a list, that’s great.

No invasive or non-native plants will be sold and we LOVE to see Virginia native plants at the sale. Not sure if your plant is a native? Visit http://www.dcr.virginia.gov/natural_heritage/documents/nh-invasive-plant-list-2014.pdf – it may surprise you!)

For more information email Julie at jbericksen@comcast.net or visit the plant sale website at http://backyardplantsale.org/.
