Living with the Seasons: Autumn Remedies and Recipes
August 26, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Each season has its own signature and invites us to shift into deeper alignment with nature. We do this in simple ways: by changing up what we eat, how we move, and what we prioritize. The ancient wisdom teachings found in Ayurveda advise us to stay hydrated, warm and grounded amidst the autumn winds and darkening days. In this hands-on afternoon gathering, we’re not just talking, we’re gathering with other nature-minded peeps and playing! We’ll hand-grind a spice blend (masala) to take home and enhance our autumn meals, we’ll sip warming chai, and we’ll savor a simple autumn snack. We’ll reflect on how to bring autumn into our kitchens and weave seasonal remedies into our daily routines. You’ll take home recipes, wisdom and the glow that comes from taking an afternoon retreat. Time in nature (weather permitting) and an integrative yoga practice are included in this afternoon. No prior yoga or Ayurveda experience required. Please wear comfortable clothing for stretching and reclining in, and bring a mortar/pestle (if you already own one).
