MNPS Field Trip: Wild Washington- Fort Totten Civil War Fort
February 13, 2016 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
FreeMaryland Native Plant Society will visit another upland terrace-gravel forest. This is a Fort where the earthen fortifications can be seen and experienced as an historic example of a regenerated forest. We will explore the geology and the extensive blueberry/huckleberry/azalea patches in this dry, upland Chestnut Oak forest.
Leaders: Mary Pat Rowan and David Culp
Free. Registration is not required.
Notes: Easy to moderate walk.
Bring: Water and lunch. Wear good shoes and long pants because of poison ivy and greenbriar.
Cancellation Policy: Trip will be cancelled if it is raining. Call Mary Pat before 9 am on Sunday if you have concerns about whether the trip is cancelled due to weather.
