New Columbia Distillers

John Uselton and Michael Lowe opened DC’s first distillery since Prohibition in 2011. They set out to craft of great gin, starting by milling 100% soft winter wheat and creating a mash. Concentrated in a copper pot still then twice distilled, the gin gains its complexity and refined aromas from selected botanicals that are suspended for a gentle extraction. They remain true to small batch distilling and hand-bottling their gins.
Brandy Holder from New Columbia Distillers will pour these select gins, the ever favorite Summer Cup, and some of the Capitoline Vermouth. John Uselton sends us some punch to enjoy. A DC, local gin just in time to celebrate the Independence Day. @dcdistillers
