What is the Fundraiser for? It’s a kickstarter for our Fringe show, 8 Bit Circus S*it!
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to experience a video game in real life? 8 Bit Circus S*it is a live performance that will bring video games from the console to the stage through fire and circus arts. We are creating a show where Pyro Fighters battle for supremacy and the audience feels the terror of being trapped in the nightmare world of Silent Hill!
A little more about what we are raising money for:
Most or all of us have day jobs as making a living from the arts is not a realistic practice in this day and age. Our performers donate their time out of love for the art, the joy of performing and a sense of family that we have developed. We see any form of support as a sign that our work entertains, excites and inspires. Any and all support is fuel to our fire and allows us to burn brighter in a time where art and freedom of expression are most needed in contemporary society.
What we will do with donations:
Our show is very small in comparison to a large theater production which would normally have a separate budget and personnel for costuming, set design, stage management, lighting/tech, performance fuel, props, safety equipment, insurance as well as space for rehearsal/performance. We do not, as we are the cast and our cast is the crew. Our needs are small but required funds have thus far come from personal pockets. Community support allows us to to have a budget for set for these things which equates to a higher quality performance.
All funds will go to cover production costs. The more production costs that are covered, the more we are able to pay our performers from ticket sales.
Let us know about your upcoming local event. If you don’t see your event on our calendar, you can submit your event for consideration on our calendar here. Please aim to share your events at least two weeks before the event so we have time to get the word out.
