The Matrilineal Way: The Importance of Female Leadership
November 19 from 11-1
at Centro Ashé in Bryans Road, Maryland

Pre-Registration is Required

In this class participants will receive an in-depth look at the matriarchal way in which many East Coast Native communities lived (and continue to live). Female governance, social, spiritual and economic roles and significance of Piscataway women are highlighted. We will explore the absence of the sacred and the importance of revitalizing it in body and mind. All participants will make-and-take pottery in the fashion of traditional Piscataway Creekware women potters.

You may opt to purchase an indigenous lunch on site from Copper Kitchen, licensed catering featuring indigenous foods.
Lunch will be Vegan Wild Rice Salad, Vegan Squash Soup & Corn Bread (not vegan)
Highly Recommended!

Address:
1620 Chester Avenue
Bryans Road, MD 20616

*Please bring plenty of warm clothes with you for the workshop, it will be indoors but the classroom
