What the Health with Dr. Neal Barnard

May 11, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Please join VSDC and Mindy Kursban for a screening of WHAT THE HEALTH followed by a Q& A session with Neal Barnard, M.D., who appears in the film. (Note: you must buy a ticket to attend this event. )

This groundbreaking follow-up film from the creators of the award-winning documentary Cowspiracy exposes the hidden forces that may keep a clean bill of health out of reach for many Americans. From profiling exorbitant healthcare costs to skyrocketing rates of chronic disease, What the Health provides a new take on America’s contemporary healthcare crisis.

“To make healthcare work we have to get healthy,” says Dr. Barnard. “The keys to optimal health and disease prevention start with a nutrient-packed, plant-based diet and a healthy lifestyle.” Dr. Barnard is the president and founder of the nonprofit Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine and is the founder of the Barnard Medical Center. He has published more than 70 scientific studies and reviews about diet and health which have influenced both patient health outcomes and the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

He has authored 18 books, stars in four PBS specials, and recently opened a nonprofit medical center, Barnard Medical Center in Washington, D.C., to help people put the latest research surrounding diet and health into everyday practice
