MNPS Field Trip: Wild Washington- Fort Totten Civil War Fort

Maryland Native Plant Society  will visit another upland terrace-gravel forest.  This is a Fort where the earthen fortifications can be seen and experienced as an historic example of a regenerated forest. We will explore the geology and the extensive blueberry/huckleberry/azalea patches in this dry, upland Chestnut Oak forest.

Notes: Easy to moderate walk.

Bring: Water and lunch. Wear good shoes and long pants because of poison ivy and greenbriar.

Cancellation Policy: Trip will be cancelled if it is raining.  Call Mary Pat before 9 am on Sunday if you have concerns about whether the trip is cancelled due to weather.
