Everyone knows someone affected by lymes disease. Most of us who spend a good deal of time outdoors have a healthy fear of a small arachnid called Ixodes scapularis or Deer Tick.
In this workshop we will discuss the life cycle of the deer tick, how to avoid areas heavily habitated, prepping yourself for outdoor journeys to avoid tick bites and biological controls for properties with heavy tick populations. The biological control we will be discussing and demonstrating is the use of a predatory nematode.
A good companion to this workshop would be Microhearding Invertebrates.
