Hometown Habitat showing – Reston
March 31, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
First there was the book, Bringing Nature Home…now there is the movie.
Hometown Habitat
Free screening for adults. This film shows how and why native plants are critical to the survival and vitality of local ecosystems. Entomologist Doug Tallamy sounds the alarm on the misuse of non-native plants in landscaping as well as habitat and species loss, showing how each individual has the power to conserve resources, restore wildlife habitat and bring beauty to their patch of earth. There will be a short discussion after the film.
See the trailer at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXbDWTfcK2s.
Reservations recommended, go to goo.gl/NdRgfr to register or contact naturecenter@reston.org for assistance.
Bring cash for popcorn, sodas and NoVa Native Plant Guides.
You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of Reston’s natural resource management. Also attached to this email is a Native Plant Order Form. If you haven’t turned in your form yet, you can do that at the movie. The deadline is this Friday. Plant pick up will be at the nature center on April 15.
